Private parties, something for Aussies/Kiwis/Saffas and the week's events.

Dear all, I am getting quite a few enquiries for private party bookings. For the most part I will hire all or part of the venue for free but I am having to let people down as I am not getting enough notice. Most things are booked a couple of months ahead so if you have a birthday or whatever and want to do something please give me as much notice as possible.

Southern Hemisphere people. We now sell VB and Bundaberg rum if you are interested. We can also show quite a lot of the Super 14s so let me know if there are any specific games you want to see.

This week's main events in bite sized chunks...

Thursday
Songbirds and Troubadours. A load of acoustic acts in the window. The quality at this has been outstanding and it is just a couple of quid in. Acts from about 7 to 12 and bar til 2 of course.

Friday
House DJs from 10 til 4am.

Saturday
Live bands from 8pm. Starting with the quite super newcomer Kate Nash and then the big sounds of two excellent bands; Nately and Flow. Then DJ playing indie, soul, funk etc til 4am
Have a listen at;

Sunday
No work tomorrow kids!! Return of the fashion and bands day. Loads of stalls selling designer stuff, jumble and vintage fashion from 1pm to 6. Entry is entirely free before 4pm and from 6 we will have live sets from The Dresses and Smooth Hound Sharks.

Monday
From 730pm we have Dialog from West Hampstead via Bulgaria, Austria and England and Blast; Russia's top indie band it says here. They have supported Franz Ferdinand and Blur with Damon Albarn saying they are one of the best bands he has played with. How about that??

The World Cup plus free tickets plus bands

Dear all, I know it is more than a month away but for those of you debating where to watch the world cup I am letting you know that we will be showing every single match on our massive screen with stereo sound. If you have not seen a game in there then let me tell you that the picture is superb and you can watch it from the balcony, dance floor or gallery. Room for about 150 and a Burberry free zone.

Right, no live music tonight as we are (ahem) talent scouting at Camden Crawl. We have a load of live music on Sunday though which will be well worth a visit.

This weekend we have house DJs from 10 til 4am on Friday and something quite different on Saturday. It is a night of some of the most cutting edge electronica featuring live acts, DJs and screen visuals. £7 in but I have 10 FREE tickets to the first 10 people who reply to me telling me the title of a Gary Numan song.

The line up for Sunday is The Blue Review, Pacific Ocean Fire, Lokio and La Merika. It alkl starts about 7pm and full details of the bands are on www.myspace.com/milkandscissors

cheers

Australians in Europe

Dear you, feel free to reply to my mails, I like a bit of banter.

Ok, after you've chuckled at the free entry comedy tonight and had your brain exercised by our ace music quiz on Tuesday and sampled our new night of spoken word, story telling and poetry on Wednesday I am a hoping that you will give a big London welcome (blimey I sound like I am holding a microphone) to Dollsquad who are opening their European tour at The Good Ship. If you go to www.myspace.com/dollsquadrock you can have a listen; they are proper ace, like a female Ramones with lots of 60s garage influences. And they will be supported by the excellent The Epitones and The Shake. Very much a 60s oriented night, it should be brilliant. www.myspace.com/epitones www.myspace.com/theshakemusic.

Ok, I'm out of here. Have great weeks.

A bit of sadness, Carolyn's quiz, football and a blinding gig

Howdy campers, some ne'er do well nabbed The Good Ship's sound mixer at the weekend so if anyone sees anything like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/.....#ebayphotohosting
on offer anywhere please let me know and I'll put them over my knee and you don't wanna know the rest.

That nonsense aside please pop down for the general knowledge quiz tonight hosted by Carolyn. There are questions aplenty with a fair smattering of trivia and nonsense within all the highbrow stuff.

If you want to watch the Arsenal game on Wednesday then The GS has the best and largest screen in Kilburn (well, except for the Goose, but it is moribund in there...)

And on Thursday we have a truly sensational gig lined up. Shooting at Unarmed Men contain ex members of McLusky who sadly split in 2005 and this could be their last ever London gig. In Kilburn, it makes me glow.
Please do have a listen and a look at the bands below...

Have good weeks all.
