The night starts at 8 for team registration and the quiz itself will start at 830. As usual prizes for 1st, 2nd and thickos, oops I mean best team name, hehe. Pop quiz is next Tuesday by the way.

Songbirds and Troubadors, the mellow of mellow acoustic night returns on Thursday. It's a great music night, all acoustic and in the window and as per the bar will be open til 2am for those who fancy bunking off on Friday.

Open Mic...try your hand kids

Hello you,

This Thursday 16th Feb we are having an Open Mic night at The Good Ship. As diverse as possible would be good so all those out there who wanna be heard give me a holler and I will book you in for a slot between 8 and 12. Singers, harpists, spoon players...as long as it is entertaining we'll give you a slot. The sound system is ace, the gig will be in the window and nice and mellow. Plus we will keep you well lubricated. Those of you who do not want to come and play can come and watch instead. Free entry, acts from 8 to 12, plus bar open til 2am. Everyone's a winner!

Remember that on Friday and Saturday when we are open til 4 one has to arrive before 2am to get in. Not my rules but PC Plod at Dock Green.

Also, next Tuesday the 21st we have Carolyn's general knowledge quiz and the Tuesday after that is Simon Smyths pop quiz both of which are loads of fun.

Over and out, have a good week all.

cheers

Henry and Luke plus free comedy night

Ok, so being open to 4am at the weekends and 2am during the week is not helping my sleep deprived state but we're doing it for you kids! Oh aye. You will also all be pleased to know that the heating/cooling system and the ventilation have all been completely sorted so smokiness and shivering and indeed sweating are things of the past.

Now this weekend we have house on a Friday as per and Maurice playing a veritable malange of stuff on Saturday, also as per. REMEMBER at the weekend despite us going on til 4 there is absolutely no entry after 2. And of course we want you with us all evening anyhoo, if you'd be so kind. Also, if anyone wants to book the balcony for them and their friends for a birthday or whatever we'll do it for free but let me know with as much notice as possible please as we're getting increasing amounts of enquiries.

Right 2 special events are happening; on Thursday and Monday. Please come on over tonight as Thursday sees two of our locals Luke and Henry getting up on stage and singing for your pleasure. Under the name Lucas Gregory you can have a little listen at http://www.myspace.com/lucasgregory. They will be supported by Reuben who I am sure has a surname somewhere and the main act of the night will be Lux Luther, a highly rated band based in Cricklewood. They say about themselves...ux Luther are a 4 piece from London. There's no messing about here, no over blown guitar breaks, no revelling in self-glory, no cheesey gimmicks. We write songs that hit straight to the head, the heart, and the feet. Songs that stay with you well after we've vacated the building. We don't care for art-rock-cool-hair-posing-no-tune-scenesters... Sounds good to me. £3 will get you admittance tonight, blooming bargain. Music starts from 8.

Talking of bargains this month's comedy is happening on Monday and again it is FREE to get in. The comics are
Daniel Hicking (first timer, go easy on him boys and girls)
Sam Makhoul
Pat Monahan
Trevor Lock
Info on 2 of them at...
http://www.comedycv.co.uk/trevorlock/
http://www.comedycv.co.uk/patrickmonahan/
The acts start at 9, arrive at 8 to get a seat.

That's it, have good weekends all.
